04.07.12 (Cambridge, UK) - Back at the Wren
A very short update today. Happy Independence Day Americans.
Here are a few photographs of manuscripts I looked at today:

This is called Chronicle of England and it originates from Abingdon in the 14th c. (Shelfmark R.17.7) It's enormous! The manuscript book stands (if you stood it upright) about a yard and change. Each of the letters is about an inch and a bit in size. |

One of Prince Harry's practice books. There was nothing really interesting inside, beside a few censored areas. I just chose this one because I really wanted to see it. |

There were eight of these little handbooks all-in-all. They were about three three to five millimeters thick.. |

This is a scroll that was a pain in the ass to unroll. It charts the descent of the kings of England. This is the more interesting part. |
